After thirteen long years of planning, voting, debating, and finally, construction, Davidovich & Associates were excited to bring the first ever Whole Foods of Malibu inside the Park at Cross Creek. In November of 2014, votes against suburban sprawl and construction of large commercial chain stores would not have allowed for such a beautiful plaza to be created. The following year, Soboroff Partners diligently fought for the space that they had envisioned. Davidovich & Associates, together with the architects at Goldman Firth Rossi, had the honor to participate in the design and construction of this landmark, and were able to create what is currently a beautiful community-centered shopping area.

Davidovich & Associates’ engineers were excited to provide our integrated expertise in Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Dry Utilities, Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Lighting Design, and Low Voltage Engineering.

Malibu City’s ordinances and strict technical requirements could quit often present a challenge for any designer. Nevertheless, The Park at Cross Creek, anchored by the 24,000 square foot Whole Foods, now features five surrounding buildings, which hold the community’s favorite retail shops and restaurants.

The landscaping, emphasized by Davidovich & Associates’ lighting design, in the gardens and vines growing around the large structures create a sense of being in another space. As a result of our mutual effort alongside Freeman Group and Del Amo Construction, this plaza creates a variety of community and visitor-serving commercial uses and allow everyone to feel welcome.
